Sisterly love

Steve's mom came to stay with the girls while Steve and I were away, and she was here for Mo's 15th birthday yesterday. We are all sad, because she went back home today.

I got an unexpected gift. I was upstairs doing my hair and enjoying the chatter. Steve was talking with his mom in the kitchen, and the girls were in the living room.

"I love you, Moriah. Happy Birthday!"

Oh, my heart. My girls bicker and they are often rude. Sometimes I wonder if they even like each other.

I was reminded yesterday that they love each other.

Planes, trains, and six other modes

Steve and I went to some meetings this weekend with some of our friends from church. The meetings were in Cleveland. In order to get there, we took a car, church van, train, tram, plane, and the airport shuttle. Later we rode buses to get to the boat that puttered in circles on our dinner cruise.

That's eight modes of transportation in one day. Exhausting!

save $ shopping

Last night, El,Mo and I went shopping. I don't like shopping. We all needed some new clothes, so we went shopping. I tried to make the best of it, but I wasn't in the mood for shopping.

Part of why I don't like shopping is because I always feel like there has to be some way that things could be cheaper. If I waited until this weekend, would there be a sale? Was there a sale last weekend? Why does this tag have a rectangular sticky gunk shape over the price? Did it used to be on clearance? Did someone peel the sale sticker off just before I came in? The money saving possibilities overwhelm me.

I discovered a secret a while back. It happened when we discontinued the subscription to the newspaper. I don't get the coupons anymore, so now I ask as I am making a purchase, "Am I missing out on a coupon?"

Maureen at JC Penney is my new favorite sales associate. She saved me 8 dollars last night.

I still don't like shopping.

To pray, or not to pray...

This is my new favorite blog:

If you're not sure when or how you should pray for a meal, it will really help you out to read:

#203. Not knowing what meals to pray before. (A handy SCL Guide)

I just couldn't resist making a comment about this one.
